Students Support Services

We understand the challenges and difficulties students may encounter during their studies. That is why out Student Support Team is there to provide support and assistance, whether these are behavioral, academic and/or emotional problems. Support services for students include:

Orientation Support

At VIVA Institute, we prioritize the seamless transition of each student into the vibrant international student community in Adelaide. Think of this as a welcome to the institution. To ensure a smooth integration, our Orientation Program is a mandatory step for all students before they embark on their courses.

The Orientation Program occurs at the start of each course intake. In cases of late enrolment, our student support team will personally guide the student through an individual orientation session.

During the Orientation Program, a comprehensive Microsoft Power-Point presentation covers essential information, including:

  • Details of support services, both internal and external, aiding in the transition to life in Australia and international study. These encompass Welfare Services, Accommodation Services, Academic and Career Guidance, I.T. support, Student Learning Assistance, English Language Support, and Social Inclusion Activities.
  • Understanding legal, emergency, and health service facilities, alongside resources and organizational policies. Procedures related to Course Progress, Attendance Monitoring, Deferral, Suspension, Cancellation, Course Transfer, Complaints & Appeals, and Student Visa Conditions pertinent to Course Progress will also be discussed.

Study Support

We offer academic support to the students such as one-on-one advice sessions, study skill workshops, providing useful learning materials and more. We facilitate study groups where you can work with your cohorts to discuss the materials, share insights and your understanding of the subjects.

VIVA Institute ensures that every student has access to a diverse range of learning support resources to help them fulfill course requirements and attendance criteria.

These support mechanisms include:

  • Personal mentoring provided by qualified trainers, offering direct contact through the institute’s email for individualized guidance.
  • Tutorial support available.
  • Assistance with computer and technology-related queries.
  • Guidance for external support services if needed.

Additionally, for students facing challenges in meeting course requirements, our ‘Student Handbook’ outlines specific procedures designed to support Students at Risk.

Student health and wellbeing

There is nothing more important than your health and wellbeing. We want you to feel your best on and off campus, so you can achieve your study goals and enjoy your time at VIVA Institute. All students can access confidential one-on-one session provided by professional counsellors. We are committed to providing a safe, culturally appropriate, and inclusive service for all students, regardless of their ethnicity, faith, disability, sexuality, or gender identity
